Premier League Championship Sunday lived up to the hype. My son and I got up early and watched the fabulous pregame show together. He was hoping his Arsenal would get the break it needed to win the Premier League. I knew Manchester City was going to be unstoppable, but anything can happen in the Premier League. We watched games on the television, the iPad and the iPhone, all at the same time. Arsenal and Everton played on the big screen. Manchester City and West Ham were on the Ipad. And Chelsea and Bournemouth on the Iphone. The games did not disappoint. They were exciting and capped of a phenomenal season. It became clear just how great Manchester City is, as they beat West Ham, to win their 4th straight Premier League title – the first team to win four straight Premier League titles. We now know Pep Guardiola is the GOAT.
Tough Day for Arsenal
While I could not help but feel bad for Arsenal and Mikel Arteta, I don’t have to eat my words about Arsenal bottling the season after the loss to Aston Villa on April 14, 2014. They were so close to winning it all. Arsenal fans will be haunted by the loss to Aston Villa and also the Stefan Ortega save against Tottenham that likely changed the course of history. Good news for Arsenal fans, Arsenal is going to be even better next year.
And who could have ever imagined Chelsea finishing in 6th and securing a spot in either the Europa League or the Conference League. What a turn around for Chelsea and what an amazing season.
Sit Tight Until August
Premier League will be back in August 2024. In the meantime, if you need to watch some soccer you will have the upcoming Copa America Cup, Euro 2024 and Paris Summer Olympics. Will those tournaments be anything as exciting and dramatic as the Premier League? Anything is possible…But I can’t wait for the Goals, Drama and Glory that only the Premier League can bring.
