My wife introduced me to Planet Box lunch boxes, and I have to say, she found a game-changer. For years, we relied on the same plastic compartment lunch boxes. They worked fine, but as my son got older it appeared they weren’t very durable and always needed replacing before the start of a new school year. Just last year, we had to replace two of them because the lids broke. Determined to find a better solution, my wife started researching—and she did an amazing job discovering Planet Box. When she first showed me a picture, I wasn’t convinced. The stainless-steel design seemed too cold and unappealing. Little did I know, that very design turned out to be one of its greatest strengths.
PlanetBox
PlanetBox lunch boxes were created with the goal of providing a sustainable, durable, and eco-friendly alternative to traditional plastic lunch containers. The idea came from a desire to reduce waste, especially in schools, where single-use plastics like sandwich bags and disposable containers are common. The lunch boxes are made from high-quality stainless steel, which is not only durable but also free from harmful chemicals like BPA, phthalates, and lead. PlanetBox has also become popular for its customizable features, such as magnets and carrying cases, which make the lunch boxes fun and personal for kids
Durable Construction
I really appreciate the stainless-steel construction—it’s tough enough to withstand the daily wear and tear of a 6-year-old boy. Whether it’s being repeatedly tossed in and out of a backpack or accidentally dropped, the PlanetBox is built to handle it all without a problem.
One thing to keep in mind is that PlanetBox is not designed to be completely leak-proof, so watery or wet foods may seep out if placed directly in the compartments. The simple solution is to avoid putting wet foods in the main sections. Fortunately, it comes with a leak-proof dipper, which is perfect for sauces and other wet items. This minor limitation doesn’t stop me from packing nutritious and delicious lunches for my son. Check out some of the meals I’ve packed in the PlanetBox!
If we had found out about PlanetBox sooner we could have saved some money on replacing lunch boxes. Nonetheless, I am glad my wife told me about PlanetBox.
