Confessions of a Tommy John Convert: Why Tommy John Undershirts Are My Ultimate Favorite

One of my absolute favorite clothing items is Tommy John undershirts. I remember the first time I bought a Tommy John undershirt. About 10 years ago, I was at Nordstrom and by accident came across the undershirts. The photo on the packaging looked unlike anything I had seen. The undershirt looked sleek and tight to the body. I had been fed up with regular undershirts that would bunch up and ride up throughout the day. Tommy John looked like the perfect solution to my problem. I bought 3 undershirts. The moment I put the undershirt on, I became a Tommy John convert. I was thrilled.

Over the years, I wore many different brands of undershirts. I personally have to wear an undershirt when wearing a dress shirt, collared shirt or sweater. One reason is I tend to sweat a lot under my arms. Second, no matter how clean I am, over time my shirts tend to develop some stains under the arms. For comfort and cleanliness, I need to wear a comfortable undershirt that will help preserve my clothes.

As I mentioned, I was constantly annoyed by how traditional undershirts fit. I tried so many and all were disappointing. Before Tommy John, I would have to go to the bathroom throughout the day and adjust my undershirt. Typically, I would have to lower my pants and pull my undershirt back down below my hips. With the Tommy John stay-tucked technology, my problem was solved. No more bunching, riding up and discomfort – Tommy John undershirts stay perfectly in place.

I have found my two favorite types of undershirts. If I am going to wear a collared shirt dress shirt without a tie, I always will wear  a second skin deep V neck or second skin high V neck Tommy John undershirt. This way, if I have a few buttons open, no one will see the undershirt. If I am wearing a sweater or wearing a dress shirt with a tie I will go for second skin crew neck   or cool cotton crew neck undershirt. This way, if I am wearing a white dress shirt, no one will see the V under my shirt.

Whether you choose the cotton material or the patented second skin shirts is a matter of preference. I have both. Neither will let you down. I must say the second skin shirts feel lighter and really are like a second skin. In the winter time, I tend to wear the cotton material more.

Many retailers sell Tommy John. However, if you are interested in trying Tommy John your first time, the Tommy John website will provide you with a great deal on your first purchase. I suggest purchasing a 3 pack  – deep neck or high neck – so you can save some extra cash on the purchase. I can’t imagine wearing any other type of undershirt. If you want a luxurious feeling undershirt, you will not go wrong with Tommy John.
