My wife told me about the Ninja Foodi SS100 Series Smoothie Bowl Maker and Nutrient Extractor. For years, I used my classic Vitamix blender until it stopped working. I love making green smoothies with raw kale, spinach and fruits. I wanted a new food extractor that was cost efficient, took up little counter space and would completely liquify the raw kale and spinach leaves – no one wants leafy pieces in their smoothie! I loved the price. Also, I liked the fact, the Ninja Food SS100 Series is compact – its dimensions are 10.79 Inches (H) x 6.69 Inches (W) x 6.69 Inches (D). It would take up minimal counter space and leave plenty of room above it – under the kitchen cabinets. But, I was skeptical as to whether it would have the power to liquify those kale and spinach leaves. The Ninja Food SS100 Series boasted it was a nutrient extractor with1200 watts output. That sounds strong, but it had significantly less power than the Vitamix. I had to try the Ninja, for myself, to see if it could do the job.
Ninja Foodi SS100 Series Test
We bought a Ninja Food SS100 Series and put it to the test. I typically don’t measure the ingredients, but here is how I made my first test smoothie:
- Two handfuls of raw kale and/or spinach
- One big handful of frozen mixed berries.
- Tablespoon of Greek yogurt.
- 4 raw egg whites.
- I add water to avoid the sugar or add1/2 cup of orange juice for taste.

My wife has used the Ninja Food SS100 Series to make a smoothie bowl for our daughter. The Smoothie Bowl Maker comes with built-in tamper powers through with less liquid for thick smoothie bowls.
